“I started going to Dr. Srutwa shortly after my 30th birthday.  I have struggled with back pain for most of my adult life.  In many instances, my back would go out on me and I would be laid up for weeks.  My doctors would write prescriptions for muscle relaxers and pain relievers, but they just masked the pain.  I had seen a neurosurgeon before my last episode occurred, he told me that the only way that I would feel relief was to have back surgery.  I had three ruptured discs, degenerative disc disease, as well as arthritis.  He explained that he would shave the bulges off my discs and that I would have a 6-8 week recovery.  I just couldn’t see myself having back surgery; which might not take care of my pain for good.

The last time my back went out on me was a year after my daughter was born.  I couldn’t even carry her or pick her up.  It hurt to breathe, sit, lay down, and walk; it was nauseating.  My husband had to take me to ER where they drugged me up and sent me home on crutches.  The pain was so great that I couldn’t even walk, I had to shuffle my legs to get to where I needed to go.

I heard about Balance in Life during a visit with my family doctor.  I didn’t know much about Dr. Srutwa or what IDD Therapy was, but I was willing to try anything non-invasive.  I contacted the office and after hearing my pleas for help, they were able to schedule an appointment for the next morning.  I had my consultation with Dr. Srutwa and he determined that I was a perfect candidate for IDD Therapy.  He started the therapy sessions immediately following my consultation.  I went for a total of six weeks and was walking without crutches after the third week.  All I can say is, I am very thankful for Dr. Srutwa and his staff, they were such a blessing.  I was able to get my life back and be a mom to my daughter again.  It has been almost 2 years and my back has not gone out on me since the therapy.  I would strongly suggest people see Dr. Srutwa before making the decision to have an invasive surgery.  Again, thank you for all that you have done for me.”

“Balance in Life has been a real blessing.  Your willingness to help manage my mother’s Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia has been invaluable – at times the only ones willing to look beyond calling it ‘old age’.  The help in keeping her muscles working and the pain relief it provides has helped in keeping her comfortable and has enhanced the quality of her life.  Thank you.”

“Thank you so much for supplying me with the opportunity to experience a wonderfully healing experience during the last few months.  As you know, this last year has been a particularly trying, hurtful time for me physically, psychologically, and spiritually.  You are a natural Healer and Teacher.  You listened, analyzed, and synthesized. You subtly focused on my defining a goal – an overall path to wellness.  The treatment evolved, including science, art, and spirituality.

Whenever I enter the foyer of your Practice, I am brought into a welcoming ambience.  You have created and developed a rare and very special atmosphere for your patients.  Non-verbal communication would welcome your patients.  They would include lovely floral arrangements, warm colors, attractive art, beautifully calming music, varied reading materials, and effectively-arranged furniture.  Such a nurturing environment!  Then you added an intelligent, competent, wonderfully friendly, and caring staff.  All of you demonstrate that Balance in Life.

Because of my experiences with your office, I am much better prepared to aspire to that same balance in life.  Best wishes to you and yours for your continued health, happiness, and success.

P.S. Did I mention my ongoing acquired taste and appreciation for Tai Chi exercises?”

“I have had chronic back pain for several years, having had several surgeries for herniated discs to correct the problem.  After the surgeries, I continued to have recurring pain in my legs, caused from bulging discs in my back.  The pain level changed on a daily basis, and was at such a level that at times it interfered with my normal activities.

I was given a referral from a friend of mine who is younger and was experiencing the same pain caused by a herniated disc in his lower back.  My friend had received treatment at Balance in Life with Dr. Srutwa.  As a result, the treatment he received for his back problem resolved and he is currently pain free.

I contacted Dr. Srutwa regarding my problem and after an examination and an MRI, I chose to go through the treatment offered at Balance in Life.  I was, at first, skeptical, but after completing the treatment, I have become almost pain free.  The treatment was painless, less intrusive than surgery, and has allowed me to return to my normal activities.  I would highly recommend anyone with back problems to try this alternative treatment before electing surgery.  The doctor and his staff are professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable.”

“OH MY – I could fill pages!  Dr. Srutwa has so many skills.  The one I appreciate the most is his innate ability to LISTEN.  It seems like such a small thing, but when you are hurting… Dr. Srutwa makes constant eye contact and takes the time to listen to your concerns.  He is a true blessing.”

“It all started years ago with going to doctors, trying to find out why my foot hurt so much.  I was having trouble walking and standing.  I am a pastor, so Sunday mornings were becoming more and more difficult.  After going to a number of medical professionals who found nothing, or excused it all to being ‘in my head’, I was made aware of a place called Balance in Life.  I thought, "well, what do I have to lose?"  At worst, I could get another ‘it’s all in your head’ comment.

To my surprise, Dr. Srutwa listened to what I had to say, and assured me that the pain wasn’t all in my mind.  I could hardly believe it.  Finally, someone who had the compassion to listen to my complaint.  After many questions, and a considerable amount of time talking to him, he examined me and told me that he was quite sure the problem was in my lower back.  He sent me for an MRI that week, and the results proved him correct.  What a relief it was to know that there was an avenue of healing that I could take with his help.

I have nothing but great things to say about Balance in Life, Dr. Srutwa, and his staff.  I am on the road to recovery and my pain level is substantially lowered.  He has given me practical exercises and natural remedies that are good for my total well being.  I am so happy that I found Balance in Life and Dr. Srutwa.”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Srutwa and his staff at Balance in Life for the treatment I received to aid me in the very difficult task of quitting smoking.  I had tried several times to quit smoking on my own, but was never successful, and so often times frustrated by my continued failures.  I heard about acupuncture as a method to aid in this process, however, was completely unaware of the smoking cessation program, as well as the possible results, but decided to give it a try.

It was a truly amazing process, quite simple, painless, and effective.  When I say effective, it created that opening I needed to help me curb my cravings…I still had to have the will and desire, but with this process, the cravings were cut to a minimum and allowed me to fight the smaller battle to stop smoking all together.  I’ve been smoke free for 6 months now and would highly recommend this process to anyone having difficulties with quitting.
